How We Write#

The rules that every definition, term and reading guide on this site follows.

The text follows a house style based on ASD-STE100 Simplified Technical English. Industry first wrote this standard for aircraft maintenance documents. Its aim is one meaning for each sentence.

  • We keep financial terms such as yield, coupon and NPL. STE permits technical names.
  • The style is based on STE. We do not claim formal STE compliance. That needs the official dictionary and a review.
  • A test checks each definition, term and guide at every build: 0 problems today. The site cannot publish text that fails.
