Activity & Spending#
Card spending in the 4 weeks to 9 Oct 2026 changed by +38.1% over 1 year in nominal terms. After inflation, it changed by +6.4% (CPI of Sep 2026). Daily electricity consumption changed by +4.7% against the same days one year earlier. Manufacturing capacity utilization is 74.2%.
Card spending counts payments at point-of-sale terminals of banks in Türkiye, with Turkish and foreign debit and credit cards. Cash withdrawals and cash advances are not included. It is not total household consumption: cash payments and bank transfers are outside it. Weekly card series end on a Friday. Electricity and FAST data are daily. Capacity utilization, confidence and house sales are monthly. Each chart and each headline figure states its own date.
Card Spending#
The sector board sorts card-spending sectors by size.
Notes
It shows how much of the nominal growth of each sector survives inflation. EVDS publishes the amounts in thousand ₺, and the page converts them to ₺bn. The matched CPI is the latest month that TÜİK has released, up to the month of the card week. That month can be several weeks older than the card data.
Total Card Spending: Nominal and Real 1-Year Change#
